This is a 41-year-old male patient who presents to the clinic wanting ALCAT testing. His main complaint is lifetime history of seasonal allergic rhinitis. However, recently he has been noticing sinus congestion, skin rashing, facial flushing with certain foods that he is eating. He also noticed gas, cramping, and diarrhea with ceratin foods. He is having rashes on his body diffusely throughout the body, bleeding, and discoloration after resolution of the rash. He noticed specifically so many symptoms occurred with intake of beers products containing the zinc, shellfish, milk, and coconut. He has muscle pains that are aching, sharp, and stabbing. He has tried over-the-counter medications without relief of symptoms. He noticed that his symptoms are getting progressively worse. He also has itchy eyes, ringing in his ears, frequent sneezing, wheezing, sinus congestion, gas, bloating, reflux, diarrhea, stomach pains, anxiety, insomnia, and rashes.
Rhinitis associated with food.
Gas and bloating.
We recommend comprehensive platinum ALCAT testing. The patient seems to have significant allergies and may have severe food intolerance contributing to his symptoms. I will recommend a follow-up with family physician or dermatologist for some antifungal cream and/or oral antifungal medication. He may also have tinea versicolor.
